You Need To See This Guy's Positive Attitude!

Bad things happen.

They can make us feel defeated, hopeless or discouraged.

If we look around us, there's almost always someone who has it worse than we do.
And sometimes those people still keep positive attitudes...

We wonder how? Or why?

Watch this video then come back and tell me if you still feel like having that Pity Party.

LIfe is Short...Speak Up

A lot of people think I am outspoken, weird and maybe a bit goofy.

I just think that they are curious why I feel so free to be the way that I am.

I will tell you why; Life is too short to be someone or something else.

Ever since high school I remember having a mantra: Life is too short to be miserable...

And so occasionally I would make decisions that some might not have understood or agreed with...and I may have even come across brash and cold....but do you know what?

I do not regret a thing :)

Over the years I have lived for me and my family....not for anyone else...

Here is a  list of things you should say before you die and I believe that if you do even half, it will change your life forever and leave you feeling a lot freer than you do today....

GRACE

Here is something you might not know about me-I love Psychology Today magazine.
There are many magazines I enjoy; like Oprah, Architectural Digest, Cleveland Magazine and more, but Psychology Today is one I love.
I have been reading it for years. It is a thin magazine, but that’s because it seems the ads are kept to a minimum.
I am completely enthralled with every subject and topic that I literally sit down and read it cover to cover every time.
Since signed up with a Twitter account I’ve been so excited to keep up with my favorite magazine by following Psych Today’s Tweets!!
About a week ago, the magazine tweeted about choosing a one-word-theme for the year.
It peaked my interest…
The tweet led to a great article where the author describes a type of New Year’s Resolution that her sister usually does which is choose one word to use as the theme for her entire year.
That sounded fun!
So, I have chosen my one-word for the year; and I’ve already been using it, though it can be hard!!
My one-word-theme for 2011 is Grace.
No matter what I do, how I act, how I react, or what I try to accomplish, I will attempt to do it with GRACE.
I have been trying to clean up my ‘potty’ mouth. I have been trying to keep my positive thoughts at the forefront of my mind. I am trying to be graceful  in the way that I thinking
There are things we all need to work on every day and many of them are the hardest habits to break.
I am excited about using Grace. I think that a one word theme will be easier than trying to talk my self down from a yuck moment. I just say ‘Grace’ and that speaks volumes to me!
Grace is a gift from God and it’s a gift that may be passed from one to another.
Use my word if you like, or choose your own!
Check it out!
(The writer is the author Gretchen Rubin and while I am not following the Happiness Project, someone out there might like to learn more about it and possibly join in. So here is her link to the Happiness Project.)
And as always, I would love to hear your comments on this post. Please share what one-word-theme you chose J

7 (Borrowed) Steps to Being Accountable for Your Life

Several of my friends are independent business women. They work hard at building their own businesses and they are consistently active in personal growth. I admire them and appreciate when they share with me things they're learning.

About a year ago, I received this list from one of them and I would like to share it with you.

The list has no title but 'You' are the main idea in each numbered point.
Read it and see what you think.
I suggest reading it out loud.

1. The Buck Stops Here
I accept responsibility for my past
I control my thoughts-I control my emotions
I am responsible for my success

2. I Will Seek Wisdom
I will become a humble servant to others
I will look to open the door for someone
I will listen to the counsel of wise men
I will choose my friends with care

3.  I am a Person of Action
I inspire others with my activity
            I am a leader-leading is doing-I must move forward

4.  I Have a Decided Heart
I do not procrastinate. All my problems become smaller when I confront them
            I will not wait.
I am passionate about my vision for the future
My course has been charted. My destiny is assured.

5.  Today I Will Choose to Be Happy-I am the Possessor of a Grateful Spirit
I will smile at every person I meet
My smile has become my calling card
My smile is the key to my emotional makeup
I will greet each day with laughter

6.  I will Greet This Day with a Forgiving Spirit
            I have forgiven myself
By forgiving myself, I ease the doubts, fears and frustration that have kept my past in the present
From this day forward, my history will cease to control my destiny
            My life has just begun
I will forgive those who criticizes me unjustly

7.  I Will Persist with Expectation
I have faith in my future
I do not look left or right, I look forward
            I can only persist
            Faith has no limits

Sometimes we have to look in the mirror for the answer.
I will expect miracle in my life
            I focus on results

At times, we are where we are,
because we want to be- author unknown
