Priceless Cartoon About Maturity
What could a mountain of Goats teach us about Maturing?
I don't know, but this cartoon has both and it does it well...
The most hilarious thing is if you happen to know Goats like those at the bottom of the mountain...
It's funny for a second...
Until you realize, they never seem to make it to the top.
Then it's just sad...
But, I guess they must like it there if they stay.

Fun Friday: Funny Things I Learned Last Thursday
Many of you might have noticed I posted Fun Friday last week on the wrong day;
I posted on Thursday!
Funny, because as I reviewed Friday's scheduled posts, on Wednesday night, I knew the next day was not Friday.
But, when I woke up in the morning, I carried on like it was!
I sat down, opened up my computer, noticed that none of my blogs had posted, chalked it up to another annoying tech error...
"Grrrrr....", I thought, "Sometimes I despise technology!"
THEN:
Oh well, just verify that that Friday is February 10th (and per the calendar - Feb. 10th IS a Friday)...
then force the posts through.
So, ignoring the feeling that something was amiss, and encountering what I assumed to be another internet glitch, I worked busily on 'fixing' the 'problem'...then received a text message from a friend:
"Today is not Friday, it's Thursday".
Okay. I thought...
So?.....What's that suppose to mean?
After a little while I realized, indeed it was Thursday! I was posting all of my Fun Friday's on Thursday!
YIKES!
All I could do was laugh!
How funny! I was so deep in thought that it was Friday, I even posted my Friday blogs!
I laugh every time I think of it.
What a silly mistake...
Last Thursday, I learned several things:
1. People pay attention (thank you, dear friend).
2. Some people care enough to tell you when you screw up (thank you again, oh wonderful friend).
3. When you get that little feeling like something doesn't add up, stop & think, because there's probably a
reason for it.
4. No matter how much you wish Thursday would be Friday, it simply is not.
Are you able to laugh at your mistakes?
If so, share.

Y.I. Wednesday: Recovering Speeder
![]() |
My local friends drive these magnificent Dodges... I wish mine had lights and sirens. |
Y.I. abide by the speed limit....
Because now my foot automatically knows it,
after my butt got enough tickets.
I have now become the little old lady driving down the road that other people honk their horns at, and pass furiously while giving me the finger.
But I keep chugging...slowly...because....
The way I look at it is this: THEY won't be paying my ticket if I get one. And, if I lose my license, (yes, I was that bad), they will not be the ones bringing my kids to after-school activities...and neither will I.
So, it's better to do the speed limit.
And it has actually changed my driving experience tremendously.
I am more aware. I enjoy the ride and the scenery (a little eyeroll here).
But seriously, I am definitely more cautious and safe.
I have now become the one to waves at speeding-drivers, while using my hand gestures!
(I think I'm just jealous.)
What do you do....and why???

Swing into Spring

My little man...last year...practicing his Swing |
The first day of Spring is Sunday, March 20th, and golfers everywhere will be celebrating!
For the upcoming occasion I have collected some quotes I found from golf movies.
Enjoy!
Truly,

Bob Barker: I can't believe you're a professional golfer. I think you should be working at the snack bar.
Bob Barker: This guy sucks.
Happy Gilmore : That guy is driving me crazy.
Bob Barker: You know what’s driving me crazy? You not getting the ball into the hole.
Tin Cup (1996)
Roy McAvoy: When was the last time you took a risk?
Dr. Molly Griswold: Well, I'm with you, Roy. I'm with you.

Legend of Bagger Vance( 2000)
“There's a perfect shot out there tryin' to find each and every one of us... All we got to do is get ourselves out of its way, to let it choose us... Can't see that flag as some dragon you got to slay... You got to look with soft eyes... See the place where the tides and the seasons and the turnin' of the Earth, all come together... where everything that is, becomes one... You got to seek that place with your soul"

Happy Halloween Matey!
I’m sure we can all remember at least a few of our childhood Halloween costumes.
I know for a fact, when I was 8 and 9, I was a blue Care Bear. (Go figure)
I also remember being a Witch one year (which I truly believe had no reference to
to the future…maybe a little.) That year my uncle made me an incredible costume.
My hat was made out of black spray painted newspaper with
gold stars, and a wand from wood with a cardboard silver-glitter-covered-star.
One yearI was a Punk Rocker. Tons of hairspray and makeup is all I remember, lol.
Halloween is probably one of my favorite times because it is so much fun to decorate
with orange and yellow leaves, pumpkins and mums. It’s also exciting to see what the
children pick out for costumes and what motivates them to do so.
Saturday night we finished sewing my eldest daughter’s Wizard costume. It’s really amazing
with black glittery satin fabric and shiny teal lining with a special clasp at the neck.
Alongside my Wizard will be an Evil Doctor and a Transformer. I am going as myself this year.
Too busy to plan out a costume. But just for the record even though I’ve been known to
wear that Witch costume now and again, I truly do mean well.

See the Humor in Things
Another day in the life of Amber.
So what is a mother to do when her son decides that he is going to put a bowl of cereal into his backpack (yes with the milk) to save for later?
Well, after cleaning up the mess, I guess she only has one thing left to do; see the humor in the situation.
The last thing I ever thought I’d find in one of my children’s backpack was a bowl of cereal with spoon and what milk was left. He saved it from the morning until he was picked up from after school care.
Let me just say this: Milk does not travel well outside of its container.
What did I learn today?
I learned that with three children I should probably be prepared for anything and besides keeping some towels and surface cleaner in the car, I should always keep a sense of humor and lots of extra patience nearby.
(By the way, I am literally LOL.)
